Welcome to the March episode of the SF Squeecast! Episode 34 is called “Ha, Ha, Ha, BANG!” This episode features the SF Squeecast regulars Paul Cornell, Seanan McGuire, Lynne M. Thomas, Michael Damian Thomas, and SPECIAL GUEST Michael R. Underwood!

This is the third of our NEW FORMAT episodes. In this episode, we generally squeed about expectations. How do our expectations affect our squee? Is it better to experience things with no expectations or lots of hype and buzz? We mentioned so many things that we are skipping the links this month. If you’re having trouble looking up something on your search engine of choice, please let us know.

The “Ha, ha, ha, BANG!” is fairly common, I think – I could probably list half a dozen different works that do it. The webcomic “Guilded Age” comes to mind, which starts out as this spoof comic on RPGs, and then it turns out there have been all kind of sinister goings on in the background, and suddenly there’s a war, but neither of the parties involved is even the bad guy. And I love it! It’s the greatest thing!

This was lots of fun. I save the Squeecasts for times I need a special treat, and this one lifted me from the depths of a nasty cold. Seanan’s rant on Sharknado had me laughing so hard that I had to stop chopping veggies for dinner so as to not cut myself. Thanks for the laughs, everyone!

Wow, Seanan was loud. I would link to levelator but they don’t seem to have a site anymore unfortunately.
